Sure the internet has some positive things but the biggest drawback seems to be the actual time it takes to get anywhere ,for searches etc there is so much useless info about that an hour is nothing on the net when you want to find something and then try to confirm if the info is correct.
Having access to more data than anyone in history certainly makes us all very powerful and much more efficient. It is hard to imagine how we did without it for sure. But at the same time, we have to deal with the side effects of all this data. The skills of sorting through and turning data into real useful information is a skill kids today really seem to be adept at.
In some respects yes it does but just sometimes I wish the internet had never been invented. Now I make my living from the internet but what it has also done is keep hundreds of thousands of children tied to their computers instead of spending time out in the fresh air. The internet can be very addictive to some kids.
There is no doubt at all in my mind that the internet has had a positive effect on Society. This freedom of information that is at our fingertips is something not even the greatest minds could have envisaged just thirty years ago.

Negative in a sense that people abuse the internet for their own selfish reasons. Using internet as a tool to give false or misleading information just for money or for power.
